Week One Weigh In

So today marked one week into the journey of a new me. I must admit this first week went a lot smoother than I thought it would. I think it went so well because everyone in the house is on board with getting healthy and it's a lot easier when it's not just you trying to fight a battle. I also have great support from a great friend, you should check out his weight loss blog as well at FatGuySkinnyWallet.
I did really well changing my eating habits. In fact I am already finding myself feeling full quicker than before. I have been consistent with working out and walking. I am feeling better in general already. If this is how great I can feel after one week I can't imagine how great I will feel long term. Now it's time to see what the scale has to say. Will my great feelings get even better?
Today's Weigh In 213.2
I am down 5.5 pounds at the end of week one. I am happy I am headed in the right direction. I have a feeling this was a lot of water weight that I lost and not expecting a number like this next Friday. I will be happy with any loss, as long as the numbers are dropping!

Clarification

I had someone question me about my weight loss ticker on the right hand side of my blog. Their question was "Why do have your goal set at getting to only 200 pounds, wouldn't you like to lose more than that?" Rest assured that is not ALL I want to lose during this transformation. I set it at that because in my mind I may become more motivated every time I hit my small goals and get to change the ticker. However in my opinion aiming to lose 18.7 pounds is no small feat! BABY STEPS!!

Working Out

I thought I would explain what I have been doing physically to help me become healthier. Six days a week I take a 5am walk with my mama. We only walk about one mile due to my mother having foot and ankle issues. She pushes herself a little further each time but I will make sure she doesn't over do it. In addition to the walking I do a 30 minute free step on the Wii Fit with three pound weights six days a week. Man does this get my blood pumping (sweat too)! I will be looking to increase my workouts in a few weeks. I am taking it slow and steady to avoid injuring myself after being so lazy and not very active for way to long.

Oh what a feeling

I must say I am feeling pretty darn good and I am not even one week into my weight loss journey. It really amazes me that I can notice a difference in the way I feel so soon. I am finding myself to be less fatigued and more energized already! I am not sure if it's me walking and working out every morning or watching what I eat. I am leaning towards it being a combination of both. I can't believe how long I went feeling like total crap for the lack of better terms! Not only am I feeling better physically I feel as though mentally I am  more alert as well. It's feeling like this that is going to keep the motivation going, well that and the scale, but we will have to wait until Friday to see how that pans out ending week one! I am confident I will be happy with what it has to tell me!
