Train the Brain

I have come to the realization that the hardest part of me losing weight is going to be the mental portion. I eat when I'm bored, I eat when I feel anxious, I just eat eat eat. Half of the time I eat, I am not even hungry, I just happen to enjoy the taste of lots of different foods. My brain is always switched to FOOD! I need to train this brain of mine to think differently or just think of something other than food. I really need to find something I can do when I get the desire to eat when I shouldn't or what I shouldn't. First step is filling the kitchen with lots of fresh fruits and veggies. I also got some healthier than our normal junk like chips and candy type of snack and picked up rice cakes, pretzel, nuts and granola. I also did away with all the sugary cereals in the cabinet and replaced then with Cheerios and Honey Nut Cheerios. I thought maybe if I got rid of some of the common bad stuff and replace it with healthier I will Train my Brain that I don't need all that crap. (I have a feeling I am going to have two very unhappy children in this house until they get used to the new food routine)

  1. I am right there with you on this one. Working out is pretty easy for me, because I love how much energy it gives me for the rest of the day!

However, I struggle so much with getting my focus off of food. For the most part, I am able to eat healthily, but sometimes I still relapse. I think it will be important for you to plan times to eat something that you love (as long as it is not too processed), so you can still have control over what you eat even when you choose a less healthy option!
